Philiconie

Le terme philiconie est formé comme le terme philologie (études des langages) en remplaçant logos par eikôn qui signifie représentation. Le terme philiconie désigne donc une étude des représentations. 

La philoconie se distingue de l’iconologie parce qu’elle n’utilise pas le terme logos et parce qu’elle ne prétend donc pas être une science, mais une modalité de lectures et de commentaires. 

Elle est développée comme une méthode et sous forme d’analyses d’œuvres à l’Ensp Arles.
